Alpine Village House Seasoned Cottage Cheese

"I got this online for a request in the forums from a Las Vegas Newspaper article that was written after the restaurant closed. I would think you can leave out the MSG if you like. Cook time is approximate chilling time."

 1. WOW, I am happy I had a craving hit me this morning. So as I was getting my cottage cheese I thought I would check the web. What a great tool. I had the pleasure to go to the Alpine Village about 35 years ago the first time. My wife and I enjoyed the seasoning very much and bought some. We always made it a point to stop by when we would be in town. When we needed more and found the resturant was gone, she was heart broken. We had tried several times to make it, but just wasn't the same. So happy days now that I found this on line.

Looks like I am making a batch up this weekend and am going to make my daughter very happy when she sees what I have for her. Thanks for putting this online. Wonderful memories of the past.

Ciao,

Guido

 2. I like this seasoned cottage cheese very much, have made it often in the last several months since I discovered it. I use half the Accent (MSG) and half the white pepper and sometimes add some minced celery for crunch, but it's fine without the celery. The local country club serves a scoop of seasoned cottage cheese with a scoop of chicken or tuna salad and some fresh fruit with poppy seed dressing on the side and calls it a Triangle Salad, which makes a nice brunch. This recipe is MUCH better than the seasoned cottage cheese our country club serves. Thank you for posting it, keen5!

 3. I kept my last bottle of this for 13 years so I would have a ingredients list. (Don't worry it was empty!) The only thing missing was the last ingredient so a added a pinch of Oregano. WONDERFUL! Reminded me of the peanuts on the floor, the guy on the piano and the wonderful food! Can't wait to share with my friends here in the East where I live now!

I love to cook, but don't have a lot of time to do it, since I work full time. I like to try a new recipe every Saturday, if time allows.

I have one grown son and three grandaughters ages 16,10 and 3. The ten year old has won many medals in gymnastics meets over the past few years.
