- 1 cup pecan halves
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1⁄4 cup white wine vinegar
- 1⁄4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1⁄8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1⁄2 cup heavy cream
- 1 braeburn apple, cored and sliced
- 1 (10 ounce) bag mixed salad greens
- 3 ounces sharp white cheddar cheese, shaved
directions
- Toast pecans in butter, sugar and salt in a small saute pan over medium heat for about 3 minutes, set aside.
- Combine the White Wine Vinegar, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Chives, Sugar, Salt, Red Pepper, Whisk in Heavy Cream (do not whip). Set aside.
- Toss together Salad Mix, Apple, Sugared Pecans, and about 1/3 cup of Vinaigrette.
- Garnish with shaved White Cheddar Cheese.
- Serve remaining Vinaigrette on the side with the salad.
