I've been eating these since I was a child! Now I'm serving them to my own children! We sometimes add a bit of green pepper with the onions, but my boys prefer just onions. Makes a great quick lunch or mid week supper. Thanks for posting an all around great recipe!!!!! UPDATE 8/27/07 If you don't have refrigerated biscuits, don't let that stop you from making this recipe! Use the tart recipe from recipe#168301, which is just bisquick and milk. I wanted to make these for my sons after school snack today, but didn't have any biscuits. This works just as well!

Very good recipe! I used 1 pound of ground turkey instead of hamburger because I think it has a sweeter taste (and is lower in fat). I, too, used crescent rolls since that's what I had on hand. I also added chopped green pepper to the turkey as I was cooking it. I used up the last of a "hot and spicy" BBQ sauce and the balance was used with a "brown sugar" sauce - a good blend. Since I used 1 pound of meat, it made 12 BBQ cups. The remaining crescent rolls were made into cinnamon rolls and popped into the oven for dessert along with the BBQ cups. I'll definitely make again! I imagine that these would freeze well and would make a quick meal for individual servings. Thanks, Charmed, for sharing this great recipe!
