- 3⁄4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1⁄2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄3 cup milk
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1⁄2 cup chopped green pepper
- 1⁄4 cup green onion
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 (15 1/2 ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1⁄2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
directions
- Heat oven to 375°F.
- Spray pie plate with cooking spray.
- Mix flour, 1/2 cup cheese, the baking powder and salt in medium bowl.
- Stir in milk and egg until blended.
- Spread over bottom and up side of pie plate.
- Mix remaining ingredients except 1/2 cup cheese.
- Spoon into pie plate and sprinkle with 1/2 cup cheese.
- Bake uncovered about 25 minutes.
- Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

I'm not a big fan of garbanzo beans but everything else in this sounded tasty. I made it with black beans instead and thought it was very good - I especially liked the crust. The only change I would make next time is to saute the veg. a bit as the peppers were a little too crunchy for my taste. Thanks for the recipe!
