- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 cup finely chopped sweet red pepper
- 1⁄2 cup finely chopped sweet green pepper
- 1⁄2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 4 slices white bread, torn
- 1⁄2 cup skim milk
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1⁄4 lb ground pork
- 1⁄2 cup dried breadcrumbs
- 1⁄2 cup chili sauce, in the bottle
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
- sweet hot pepper sauce
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 cup diced sweet red pepper
- 1 cup diced sweet green pepper
- 1⁄2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1⁄4 cup water
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 cup apple cider
- 1⁄4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon whole mustard seeds
directions
- Meatloaf: Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add red pepper, green pepper, onion and salt; cover and cook on low heat until very tender, about 8.5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
- Mix bread, and milk in a large bowl; let stand a few minutes to soften. Add beef, pork, bread crumbs, 1/2 cup Chile Sauce , egg, hot pepper sauce and sweet red pepper mixture; toss easy to coat. Spoon and dab into prepared loaf pan. Bake for about 1 hour,check to be sure loaf is done. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
- Top each serving with a Tlbs of Sweet Pepper Sauce and serve.
