  • Put brisket fat side up in roasting pan.
  • Mix together cola, chili sauce and soup mix and pour over brisket.
  • bake at 325 for 3-4 hours (30 minutes per pound).
  • After roasting, defat brisket by cutting away with a sharp knife.
  • Slice against the grain.

  1. This was different, but oh so good! It smelled so good cooking in the oven. I used some homemade chili sauce and cooked it for 3 1/2 hours. Thanks for sharing!
     
  2. I don't know how I got to this age and had never cooked a brisket before, not counting corned beef, of course. This smelled sooo good and the flavor was wonderful. This huge brisket's leftovers are going to be beef subs tomorrow with lots of sauce. Yummmers!
     
  3. I had eaten a brisket at a friends house recently and loved the taste and tenderness. Thought this sounded similar but it was actually not very tender. We ended up throwing the leftovers away because no one was interested. I even picked out a piece with quite a bit of fat on it which should have made it tender. Not for our family.
