Kittencal's Milk Boiled Corn on the Cob

- Fill a large stock pot half full with water (use a large enough pot to hold all the corn).
- Add in the cream, milk, sugar and butter.
- Bring to a boil, then add in the corn cobs.
- Reduce heat to a simmer and allow corn to cook for 7-8 minutes or until just tender, depending on size of corn try not to over cook the corn as it will become tough.
- Using long tongs remove and place on a plate or in a bowl, then cover with foil until ready to serve.
- Serve with butter and salt to taste.
- Delicious!

Maybe my expectations were too high as I was really excited about this method of cooking corn on the cob - I had never heard of this way before! The corn was definitely tender, and more so, than I think it would have been with just water & salt; however, I do not think it was necessarily all that sweeter. And I even used extra heavy cream in place of milk. I'm not convinced that using these extra ingredients changes the corn that much for someone on a very strict monetary budget [& who doesn't normally drink milk (hence why I just bought the h.cream & used it in place of the milk]. Still I would do this again though, especially if I thought my corn was going to be tough & I didn't have to worry about money, but not every time. Maybe I already had really naturally sweet corn too! Thanks for another exciting recipe Kittencal!!
