- 28 ounces sauerkraut, drained
- 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 lb marrow, bones
- 1 lb beef stew meat
- 1⁄4 - 1⁄2 cup sugar
directions
- Place sauerkraut, stew meat and beef bones, tomatoes, and onion.
- Cover with 1 inch of water.
- Bring to a boil.
- add the sugar and simmer until the meat is very tender.
- Remove bones but leave marrow in soup.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
