- 1 1⁄2 lbs hamburger
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1⁄4 cup parmesan cheese
- 1 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach (thawed & drained)
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1⁄4 cup dry red wine
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 cups hot cooked rice
directions
- Combine first 9 ingredients, mix well; form into 18 - 2 in diameter meatballs.
- Place in lightly greased shallow baking pan. Bake at 450 for 20 minute.
- In a separate pan, blend broth, tomato sauce, wine & cornstarch. Stirring constantly until thickened over medium heat.
- Pour over meatballs, stir into pan juices.
- Reduce heat to 350 & continue baking for 30 min longer.
- Serve over beds of rice.
