I just made these for dinner, but halved the recipe to only make 12 because I only have one big muffin tin. I used crisco and the flavor was great. I made self rising flour by adding 1-1/2 tsp baking soda and 1/2 tsp salt to each cup of flour. I used the regular paddle mixer on my Kitchen Aid and a large ice cream scoop to portion out the dough. These have the flavor of a roll and the texture of a biscuit. They fell apart easily, which my kids didn't like, but my husband and I loved them. It is great to have such a fast recipe for rolls! Thank-you for posting!

These were wonderful! I needed a quick roll recipe last night and made these. I subbed 1 and 1/2 sticks butter for the Crisco and Splenda for the sugar-was out of sugar. They came out beautiful. We got 21 out the recipe, some of the muffin cups were a little fuller than others. Will definitely make these again.
