Sausage-Filled Oven Pancake

"I got this recipe from Taste of Home a few years back. It can be served for breakfast, brunch or even dinner. It's a great recipe that is easy to prepare as well as inexpensive. Let me know what you think!"

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place the butter in a pam sprayed 13x9 glass baking dish and melt in oven until sizzling. Tilt pan to spread evenly over bottom of pan.
  • In a bowl, combine pancake mix, milk, sugar, oil and eggs. With wire whisk, mix until almost smooth. Pour into pan.
  • Cut sausages into bite-sized pieces and place evenly over batter.
  • Bake 20-30 minutes, until light gloden borwn.
  • Cut into squares and serve with maple syrup. Enjoy!

  1. Since Bisquick is actually biscuit mix, not pancake mix, I am not sure which you meant to be used in this recipe. I used Krusteaz complete buttermilk biscuit mix. I also used bulk breakfast sausage which I crumbled while cooking. I had to use an 11 X 17 dish, but the pancake was still finished in 30 minutes. This tasted really good with syrup and was easy to make.
     
  2. Made this recipe for dinner tonight. DH and I thought it was .... different. I can't really pinpoint what we didn't like about it. I thought it was a neat idea and it wasn't inedible or anything. Just not our cup of tea. I think we'll stick to keeping our pancakes and sausage separate as it takes about the same amount of time and ingredients to make. Thanks for posting!
