Sweet Pickle Sloppy Joes

"This recipe comes from the Southern Living Homestyle Cooking Cookbook. One of many in my cookbook collection. It's super fast, and I like the sweet pickle relish, it gives it a "kick". Super yummy."

 1. This was very good. I tasted it when I was cooking and wasn't sure I liked it with pickle relish, but after it was stored and reheated I really liked it. Thanks for a great recipe.

Tweaks

 1. This sloppy joe recipe turned out just absolutely delicious!! The only ingredient I didn't have on hand was the pickle relish, but I will def. add it the next time I have it! I also used ground turkey instead of ground chuck.

 2. Loved this recipe! Made very yummy sloppy joes and I even used venison burger in place of beef. My only regret is that I prepared this on my lunch hour and of course, sampled a joe. I thought that it could only improve if it was allowed to simmer longer and put it in my crockpot on low. Big mistake! It burned the edges to a crisp and we had to pick out what we could from the middle and the flavor was already tainted. If you want to serve this in a crockpot for gatherings, I would suggest using the warm setting if you have one and watch it carefully! But thanks for a wonderful new twist on classic sloppy joes. Will definately be making this again (without the crock)!

A Very Happy Stay At Home Mom!!!! I have a soon to be 11year old that lives with his dad, his name is JayJay, and 3 living at home with me, and 1 on the way....I'm lovin' life! Ashton will be 8 in January, he's the smartest kid I know! Wrylie will be 6 in February and he's got more passion and caring in his little pinkie than most adults I know!!! And my very personal pride and joy Hennessey. She was born on the 27th of September 2007 and she's my little dollbaby. I love being at home with my children..love paying for ALL the stuff my 2nd grader brings home...soccer fees, and basketball fees, and book orders...I love cartin' my kindergartner around, and then coming home and cuddlin' with my little girl, and shopping for her favorite thing...shoes. My husband and I are as tight as 2 people can be, and I hate it when he leaves for work and can't wait until the clock strikes 4:30 because I know that means he's on his way home. Life is good. I couldn't ask for more.
